Car Insurance Mercedes-Benz (Car Insurance). 1987 80HP (3-cyl) Mercury Outboard rough running and rough idle.?1987 80HP (3-cyl) Mercury Outboard rough running and rough idle.? After sitting for 6 years, carbs were cleaned and rebuild kits installed. Startup requires about 1/3 throttle as idle will sputter and stall. Discovered that holding my hand over the #1 carb will eliminate rough running at 2000RPM. It appears the carb is a little starved for fuel. Disassembled the carb again to check for foreign matter or particles which may have come through from the fuel tank. We have also replaced the fuel filter. Prior to starup with cleaned carbs we have replaced fuel lines, new spark plugs, new fuel and new plug wires as one was found to be suspect. Spark will jump a 1/2" gap on adjustable tester. All floats adjusted to 7/16" as per Mercury Service Manual. Anyone have any ideas as to why choking the #1 carb will cause the engine to give up the miss? Sounds like the float in the carb need to be adjusted. you still have a lean condition on the # 1 cylinder.see if you can move one of the other carbs to the #1 cylinder for testing. if the miss changes (follows the carb) then clean the #1 carb again. pay close attention to any idle circuit or jet. i did the same thing on a suzuki 150. after cleaning the carbs a second time(and i had a bad a$$ safety-clean carb cleaner) the miss persisted.moved the carbs and the miss changed cylinders. if the miss doesn't move, you may have a leaking upper crankshaft seal.a broken reed will usually spit fuel back out of the carb.make sure that the bleed hoses are routed properly and in good condition. i'll bet that the problem is in the carb. if you are using spray can carb cleaner, consider buying a gallon of carb soak,or finding someone that will let you soak them. altho i have not used one,i hear that the sonic cleaners work well too. also, yamaha sells a quart of soak that you mix with water that works well. good luck Mobile Mike has covered the possibility of a dirty carb very well, and i agree, remove the carb, dunk-clean the body, and complete the clean with any aerosol carb cleaner and compressed air. There are however, some other possibilities. Auto parts : Garage Door Opener Remote Acura 1995 . Garage Floor Coating Alfa Romeo 1996 . Garage Storage Audi 1997 . Garage Wall Guard BMW 1998 . In buying my first bike I have been doing some shopping around for a while and started talking to dealers about quotes on price and it seems all of them come back with is "Best we can do is MSRP" which at least in dealing with cars is a bunch of bogus. Is this normal with buying bikes and if not how much play should I be looking for the dealer to budge? I'm a little frustrated since most of the dealers that have what I'm looking for are several hours away and I certainly don't want to drive there to haggle and end up walking away because I feel like I'm not getting a fair deal, which I will do even if it ends up flushing a couple hundred dollars in gas money. car insurance. Mercedes-Benz . How to Install a Shift Cable on an OMC BoatThe shift cables on your OMC boat motor are vital for proper engine performance. Improperly aligned or worn cables can cause your engine to malfunction, and even break beyond repair. This means that when your cables need replacing, in must be done as soon as possible. However, because of the involved process, this is not a repair task recommended for novice mechanics. Difficulty:Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Screwdriver Wire cutters Ratchet/socket set Step by Step : 1 Disconnect the shift cable from the bracket on the side of the engine by hand, then remove it. 2 Remove the two screws on the casing on the shift wire with a screwdriver, then pull the casing off the wire. 3 Cut off the bent end of the core wire using wire cutters. 4 Remove the vertical drive. First, remove the six nuts that hold it in with a ratchet, then pull it toward you. Without the nuts, it will slide all the way out. Set it aside. 5 Unscrew the screw from the end of the transom bracket shift lever, as well as the screw retainer on the core wire. 6 Pull the core wire out of the shift cable by hand. 7 Push a new core wire into the shift cable and the shift lever, but only until the threaded furrule seats. 8 Place a cylinder cable clamp in the casing guide. Make sure the anchor screws are not tightened down enough to interfere with the core wire. 9 Slide the casing onto the new core wire, making sure it passes through the cylinder cable clamp. Step by Step : 10 Reassemble your engine by following the directions in reverse.
Mercedes-Benz . How to Remove the BMW A/C KnobWhile many newer models of BMW have digitally-controlled air conditioning (AC) systems, models from the 1990s through 2008 featured manually-controlled AC systems. With these systems, you use two knobs mounted to the climate-control panel in the center of the dashboard. If you want to remove these knobs, either to replace them or to remove the climate-control panel, the job is pretty simple. You will need to pull off the shielding and unscrew the knobs, then slide the climate-control panel into the maintenance position. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Medium-size (No. 5) Phillips screwdriver Step by Step : 1 Grasp the edges of the left AC knob with your fingertips and gently pry the housing away from the knob itself until the housing pops off. 2 Unscrew the screw found underneath the knob housing with a No. 5 screwdriver. Keep the screw handy for your replacement or re-attached knob. 3 Repeat the above procedure with the right knob, then push the climate-control panel forward and slide it downward to remove the knob housing. Replacement knobs can now be fitted into the panel, or the original knobs re-attached if they are in need of repair. *Pick out friendly-looking salespeople and ask them what kinds of tools they buy. Most of them are auto enthusiasts who will be delighted that you're planning to do your own work (and be a future customer), and they'll be happy to point out the best buys. Buying everything at once isn't necessary to get started on your car; use the beg, borrow, and steal-from-the-family-toolbox methods if you must. The important thing is to get to work! Screwdrivers There are two basic types of screwdrivers: standard, or slot, screwdrivers (the most common type) and Phillips screwdrivers. The difference between a standard screwdriver and a Phillips screwdriver is the shape of the head, as shown in Figures 2-1 and 2-2. You use Phillips screwdrivers with Phillips screws, and standard screwdrivers with — you guessed it — standard screws. Using a screwdriver of the wrong type or size can damage the screw, the screwdriver, and even you if your hand slips while you're struggling to use 150

Always use a screwdriver with a tip that's the same width and type as the head of the screw you're working on. Because you usually can't use a standard screwdriver on a Phillips screw or vice versa (except for some Phillips/slot head screws that can be tightened or loosened by a standard blade type or Phillips head screwdriver), and because your car is fitted with both types of screws in a variety of sizes, you need several of each type (not just for your vehicle, but for almost anything around the house). Shafts vary in length too, which is useful because a longer shaft provides greater access to "buried" screws, while a shorter shaft gets into tight places more easily. Handles also vary. It's important to have large, easy-to-grip handles to help you loosen tight screws. You can get all the screwdrivers you need for relatively little money. Look for sales on plastic- or rubber-handled screwdrivers in sets of varying sizes. .Chapter 2: The Way to Your Car's Heart Is through Your Toolbox Figure 2-1: Standard screws and screwdrivers. Figure 2-3: A screwholder can help you get screws into hard-toreach places. Wrenches Wrenches are probably the most basic tools for auto repair. You need a couple of different kinds in different sizes. There are several basic types of wrenches, some for very specialized purposes, but the following sections cover the kinds you need for most jobs. Look for sets made by well-known toolmakers, and try to buy them on sale. (For more pointers on buying tools, see the beginning of this chapter.) The turning of the screw Mercedes-Benz .
